STUDENT BUILDING PROJECT

Since November 10, 1929, First Baptist Church of Mont Belvieu has been touching lives and making a difference here in our community and around the world. By God’s grace, our church is flourishing and growing, alongside our community. Mont Belvieu is growing at an annual rate of just under 6% and has increased by over 28% since the 2020 census. In other words, the mission field is coming to us, and we must be prepared!

In the summer of 2001, Bayshore National Bank gifted the building where our youth currently gather. It has hosted numerous ministry events and weekly gatherings over the past two-plus decades. It’s time for some significant upgrades to make it a more functional space for our growing student ministry and to extend its ministry reach by expanding its versatility for other ministries and even small events.

The Student Building Project will be a new space that will impact lives, strengthen faith, and bring our church family even closer together.

The Vision

If you’ve ever stepped into our youth building, you recognize right away that it’s time for a transformation. We’re launching Student Building Project to transform our student building. It will continue to be the hub of our student ministry but will also become a gathering place for discipleship groups, kids’ worship, small events, and more. It will be a place where students can encounter Jesus, build friendships, and experience life-changing moments. It will also be a place for women’s discipleship groups, men’s gatherings, showers, fellowships and more!

By faith, we are asking God to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think according to Ephesians 3:20! We’re committed to remaining debt-free as a church and for this project.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

We’ll move together by faith in four areas: pray, fund, build, and celebrate.

PRAY

Let’s join in prayer, asking God to continue using First Baptist as a vessel of life-giving hope to our church family, community, and world. Let’s trust God to expand our ministry reach and impact eternity for His glory.

  • Pray for God’s continued favor on this project as we believe in faith to be able to complete it debt-free and within the expected timeframe.
  • Pray for an ever-increasing unity among our church family.
  • Pray about what God would lead you to give toward our building campaign.

FUND

The projected cost of the renovation is $125,000. A generous donor has promised a gift of $25,000 when we raise $100,000 to bring us to our goal. As we step out in faith and generosity together, God moves in ways we can’t even imagine. Here is how you can be a part of what God is building.

  • Give as God leads you. Every single dollar makes an impact. If we each give as God leads us, we will reach our goal.
  • Consider making an initial gift to launch us toward our goal. 
  • Consider giving an additional designated offering of 10% alongside your regular giving.

BUILD

By faith, we are planning a groundbreaking work weekend from Thursday through Sunday, May 29-June 1. This event is for everyone as we begin the demo work. Our Vision Team will be coordinating work teams who will be tasked with various projects such as ceiling tile removal, siding removal, flooring removal, wall deconstruction, deck building, cleanup, and more. On Sunday afternoon, we gather to finish up and enjoy a dinner on the grounds.

CELEBRATE

The ultimate goal of The Student Building Project is the glory and praise of God. We will celebrate various milestones along the way and give thanks for God’s work in and through us. We’ll celebrate after our work weekend. We’ll celebrate when we reach our giving goal. We’ll celebrate the grand opening of The Student Building.
